Yosemite

We finally made it to Yosemite at around 2 a.m. after a good 10 hours of driving and one awesome opportunity to view the stars with no light pollution or other tourists!

We saw El Capitan, one of the world’s most challenging rock climbing/base jumping faces standing at about 3,000 feet, conquered Glacier Point, hiked up to Vernal & Sentinal Falls, saw Bridalveil falls, explored Taft Point, witnessed some insane slack-lining, mingled with some deer pals at our campsite, ate too much pizza and had some well-deserved beers.

We arrived at a Camp 4 parking space at about 4 am thinking we would need to immediately get in line for a spot-we had read so many reviews about how busy Camp 4 is this time of year- and it finally got pretty busy around 6 a.m.We all fell asleep in the car for a good 30 minutes and by the time we woke up there was already 2o people in line!

Needless to say, Camp 4 is a pretty popular site for most people our age- and even people a little older. Camp 4 is also a pretty popular site for serious climbers-Alex Honnold and Jared Leto were apparently there just days before us according to their social media!- and it’s major perk is that it’s only 6$ a night!

We stayed at Yosemite a total of 3 nights and 4 days before heading to Big Basin Redwoods State park on our way to San Francisco, although I wish we’d had more time!
